Wikis for the classroom

Wikis could be used to improve classroom instruction by enabling a wider area of topics to be covered. In class lessons the website could be used to show videos or presentations, notes for a lesson and even administer a test. Wikis would also encourage students participation and interaction since it is different from the traditional way of teaching. Students would be able to share their thoughts, view course outlines, subject syllabus, announcements and class activities once they are invited to visit the site.

Videos for the Classroom

Videos could be used to improve classroom instruction by encouraging student engagement and even capturing more of their attention, making it easier to review class materials, being able to have flexible lessons and can even improve the teaching experience.

Reflection

The piece produced is a video displaying different aspects of the plant. The video would be used in the classroom as a recap at the end of the term, to tie in each topic about plants since they were done in separate parts throughout the term.
In creating this piece the only challenge was to find appropriate music to make the video more realistic and entertaining which would grasp the students attention without distracting then from the learning aspect of the video. The piece could have been improved by using pictures of the same size so that the video would have had a smooth flow from one graphic to the next.

Cooperative Learning is Beneficial

Here is a song to inspire you throughout this new journey we have started.

Welcome to Forever Education

I intend to utilize a blog in my prospective classroom by creating a learning environment that would appeal to the different ways in which people learn.Students have different learning styles whether it may be visual, verbal, musical etc., and a blog can  incorporate each style which would create a student centered atmosphere. Pictures, videos, and other educational information as well as games will be posted on the blog where students can access anytime and give feedback. Additionally, a blog will improve the quality of instructions given by capturing the interest of students, bringing forth their creativity and ensuring participation.

Here is a personality quiz which would compare you to a flower based on your answers.
Feel free to try it out, hope you enjoy.
